Real Estate & Covid-19: Entering Stage 3
Toronto and Peel Region are preparing to enter Stage 3 of the reopening as of Friday July 21, 2020.
Here’s what you can expect when it comes to Ontario Real Estate
Real Estate Open House Prohibition Lifted
The province is lifting restrictions on in-person open houses in Toronto and Peel Region. This follows after Durham, York, and Halton Regions entered Stage 3 last week.
In-person open houses will now be allowed across the entire GTA region, while Windsor-Essex remains the only region still in Stage 2.
TRREB still recommends that we continue to use alternative marketing strategies for sellers, such as virtual open houses & virtual tours that can easily be accessed. It’s encouraged the in-person open houses be used as a last resort, and if necessary, we must comply with all required government and public health and safety measures.
Mandatory Masks in all Common Areas of Condo and Apartment Buildings
This includes elevators, lobbies, and laundry rooms. There are exemptions in cases where there are medical reasons or children under 2 years old.
The bi-law comes into effect on August 5, 2020.
The previous (current) mandatory mask bi-law exempted condo and apartment buildings.
As a Realtor, my number one priority is to keep the safety of my clients a priority. We are currently using masks and gloves at all showings, using hand sanitizer before and after all showings and completing thorough Covid-19 health disclosures prior to appointments to name a few.
It’s been an interesting journey, and I continue to keep on top of the changes as the situation relating to the pandemic evolves.
