Covid-19 & Real Estate
So here we are again, day 1 of a “new” version of Lockdown, under a stay at home order.
Here’s What it Means – January 2021
Real Estate is still considered “Essential”.
We can still conduct business following all public health protocols.
Open houses remain prohibited.
In-person showings are permitted by appointment, and should be limited to those considered “urgent”.
Clients are encouraged to take advantage of all virtual tours (MLS listings, virtual & 3D tours etc.), and book in-person showing(s) only when necessary.
We’ll continue to conduct as much business as possible virtually, so client meetings and consultations continue via Zoom.
During showings, or in-person meetings, physical distancing, PPE, such as masks, and cleaning/disinfecting the home before & after showings will continue.
We’ll continue to space out showings and limit the # of people at each showing.
Only one family group in the property at a time, and limited only to the contract parties.
And some other things that have been impacted:
1) Short-term rentals for recreation are effectively closed as of Jan 12th.
2) Renovations started before Jan 12 will be permitted to continue, but those that have NOT started, are NOT permitted to begin.
And, the Government is putting a temporary halt to residential evictions to ensure Ontario residents are not forced to leave their home under the state of emergency.
As always, please reach out if you have any questions about this, or anything else related to Real Estate & Covid-19.
