Painting Tips & Choosing your Colour Scheme: Blue is the World’s Favourite Colour!

Re-decorating and not sure what colour palette to go with?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Colour can be the single most important element in decorating a room. It has a significant impact on our emotions.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The most effective colour schemes use 2 or 3 colours.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today’s feature colour is blue (selfishly, it’s my fav!), and is actually also considered the world’s favourite colour!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Blue makes a room appear clear, cool and clean and can be very soothing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It can create a cooling effect to a room that has a lot of natural light.

Here are a few of my favourite Blues:

SW 7656 – Rhinestone by Sherwin Williams.  One of my Fav’s and I’ve used this throughout my own home.  It’s versatile and works in any room.  It feels like a white, but with a hint of blue making it a little more interesting than a plain while.

SW 9045 – Bora Bora Shore by Sherwin Williams.  This is bright and fun and will make you feel like you’re on vacation!  It adds a pop to any room as an accent, but can also look stunning as a door colour, or get whimsical and paint the entire room!

SW 6774 – Freshwater by Sherwin Williams.  Another bright and fun colour, use this to paint accents in furniture, or doors of a room.  You can use it on an accent wall, or use it to inspire other accents in the room like pillows & decor.
