About the Founders, In Their Own Words

Q: How did you get started in Circus?

“When we were in our early teens our next-door neighbor invited our entire family to his 50th birthday party, downtown at Harbourfront Centre. At this party they had a large flying trapeze rig set up where each of us were allowed to go up twice to try this thrilling circus apparatus. Since most of the guests were too scared to try we took advantage of this opportunity and spent the entire afternoon flying back and forth and learning the art of circus. This was the beginning of our circus addiction – the DeAngelis sisters were officially hooked! With a strong background in dance, circus soon became a new and renewed passion for us and something we decided to pursue seriously throughout our teenage years”.

Q: What do you love most about what you do, and why?

“We love the circus arts because it challenges both your physical and mental strength. It teaches you how to have perseverance in everything that you do. It takes time, patience and strength which helps us break barriers when it comes to our self-made limiting beliefs. Our mission at our school is to provide a fun, safe and inspiring school environment for all of our students to learn the circus arts. Our mission for our professional troupe is to provide working opportunities to help these world-class athletes build a sustainable career in the arts. Both mission statements have inspired us daily for the past decade!”
